The color of Crude Soybean oil is yellow to lightly red. The odor, texture and flavor of crude degummed soybean oil are pleasant. Crude degummed soybean oil is produced from controlled NON–GMO soybeans (< 0.9%). The soybeans are cracked, adjusted for moisture content, heated to between 60 ºC to 88 °C (140–190 °F), rolled into flakes and solvent–extracted with hexanes.
Crude Degummed Soybean Oil (CDSO) is obtained through the mechanical pressing or solvent extraction of soybeans, followed by a degumming process to remove phospholipids and other impurities. This process enhances the oil’s stability and makes it suitable for further refining or industrial use.
CDSO retains valuable nutrients, including essential fatty acids and Vitamin E, making it a preferred choice for converting into refined edible oil. It has a golden-yellow to light brown color and a characteristic aroma. With a high concentration of polyunsaturated fats, particularly linoleic acid, CDSO supports the production of heart-healthy refined oils.
In addition to its role in the food industry, CDSO is extensively used in biodiesel production, animal feed formulations, and as an ingredient in industrial products like lubricants and coatings. Its versatility and availability make it a cornerstone in the global oils and fats market.
